Gogo Olive is a charity set up by two sisters Julie and Ruth from the Islands of Orkney in Scotland. The aim is to empower women of Zimbabwe with sense of purpose and worth and financial security. 

Julie and Ruth were taught to knit by their mother and grandmother and set about teaching the women to knit. Gogo Olive provides the women a living wage so that they can provided for themselves and their families. 

Gogo means Auntie and in Zimbawe anyone can be your Gogo. Olive represents peace. Shamwari is Shona for friend.
