Hardback Notebooks

The German Insel-Bucherei books of the inter-war period have been the inspiration behind these glorious patterned notebooks by Cambridge Imprint.

In Leipzig in 1899 Insel Verlag a German publishing house was founded by  Anton Kippenberg. Initally the the company only printed expensive, beautifully-produced volumes.  The Insel-Bücherei series begun in 1912 to answer the demand for a more affordable book for the masses. The same attention to detail in design and typography was used with these smaller format reprinted books of shorter works from not only German authors but also from authors  from around the world.

Each notebook has 80 pages of plain cream paper, sewn and bound into a delightful slim yet light hardback notebook, that opens completely flat.

The notebook measures 18.5 cm tall by 12 cm wide.
